The Icelandic Rose Society (IRS) is a division of the Horticultural Society of Iceland. The Horticultural Society was founded in 1885 and the IRS was founded in 2002. The IRS is also a member of Nordisk Rosenforening (Federation of Nordic Rose Societies.)
The IRS has a five member Board and a current membership of approximately 260. Meetings are held four to five times during the winter months to discuss roses and their cultivation. The Society also bulk orders roses from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, England and Canada for its members in the spring.
The Icelandic Rose Society does not hold rose shows but it does run rose trials and publishes the results on its website.
